Description

The farmhouse at Sherdley Hall Farm dates to 1671, as indicated by a lintel inscription. It is constructed of stone with a slate roof and brick stacks. The building is two storeys high with an attic, originally featuring three bays, though the first and end bays project under gables. A drip mould runs above the ground and first floor windows, and the gables are coped. The windows have double-chamfered mullions; most are of six lights, with a three-light window on the first floor of the first bay and a blocked two-light window in the attic. The third bay originally had a cross window on the ground floor. A porch features a recessed door, which is studded and fitted with strap hinges and a latch. There are signs of a blocked entrance to the left of the third bay window. The side returns have similar window arrangements.
