Description

This is a bridge over a railway, built around 1830 by George Stephenson for the Liverpool and Manchester Railway. The bridge is constructed from rusticated stone and features a round arch with radiating voussoirs and an impost band. It has flanking pilaster strips and curved retaining walls. The parapet is set on a raised band, and there is a cast iron plate with the number 78 on the west side.
