Description

This is a house forming part of a terrace, likely built around 1847-50, and altered since. It is constructed of painted stucco with a slate roof. The building has a double-depth, single-fronted plan with a rear extension. It is three storeys high with three windows on the front. A square-headed doorway is located on the right, featuring a recessed surround, a panelled door, and a two-pane overlight. There are two four-pane sash windows at ground floor level, and three above them on each floor. The first-floor windows are taller and now flanked by louvred shutters. The eaves project and are supported by simple brackets. The side walls have cut-down chimneys. A simple two-bay verandah with plain cast-iron columns shelters the ground floor. The interior was not inspected. The house forms a group with numbers 9 to 12 to the left, and number 14 to the right. Together with the buildings in Adelaide Terrace, Bath Street, Beach Lawn, and Marine Crescent, it contributes to the Waterloo Conservation Area of Crosby.
