Description

Nos. 283 and 285 on Deysbrook Lane are a pair of cottages, likely built in the late 18th century. The cottages feature the lowest seven courses made of red sandstone, while the upper sections are constructed from hand-made brick, topped with slate roofs and a tall central chimney. They are two storeys high, with one bay for each house and later lean-to extensions. Each cottage has three-light casement windows on both floors, which are adorned with segmental brick arches. There are two segmental arched doorways, although the doorway for No. 285 has been replaced by a window, with the entrance now located in the extension. Each cottage also includes a lean-to kitchen addition.
