Description
Nos 52 and 54 on Castle Street is an office building dating from the late 18th century that has been altered. It stands four storeys high and features four bays. The building is constructed of ashlar and stucco. The ground floor includes a Greek key band and a dentilled cornice band, with two entrances that have reeded lintels and traceried fanlights. The upper sections are finished in rusticated stucco. On the first floor, there are two large shallow bay windows, each with three lights, flanked by fluted wooden Doric half-columns, and adorned with a frieze of triglyphs and metopes, along with a cornice. The second floor features four sash windows with sills and horizontal glazing bars, topped with a cornice, while the third floor mirrors the second. The building is capped with a top cornice and a small parapet.
