Description

The Waterloo Warehouse is a warehouse dating to 1867, designed by George Fosbery Lyster. It is constructed of brick with a granite base and a limestone ground floor, rising six storeys and measuring 43 bays by 5. The ground floor features rusticated open stone segmental arches and square piers. Beneath the ground floor are shallow barrel vaults supported on four rows of piers. Five loading bays and two hoist towers, each with a pedimented gable, are present. The upper floors contain paired round-headed windows with iron frames, each featuring a round window above. Horizontal bands mark the sill levels. A parapet and cornice top the building.
