Description

Princes Half Tide Dock is a dock retaining wall built in the early 1840s by J Hartley. It is constructed from granite rubble that has been shaped to a fair face and laid in blocks of varying sizes. The wall features steps that are arranged diagonally. This structure is part of the same build as the seaward entrance and timber gates, which are listed separately, and includes the retaining walls on either side of the entrances from Princes Half-Tide Dock to West Waterloo Dock and East Waterloo Dock.
