Description
The South Gate to Docks 28 to 31, located at Waterloo Road, dates back to the 1830s and was designed by J. Hartley. It features a central gate hut with square granite battered piers set on rusticated bases. The piers are topped with Doric capitals and gabled tops, which include acroteria. Although the original gates have been removed, there is a gate slot present, along with 20th-century railings.
