Bank building. 1860's. Stone with 2 storeys, 3 bays to Water Street, 5 bays to Lower Castle Street. Rusticated ground floor, quoins, and dentilled cornice over ground floor. 1st floor windows with pediments. Sashed windows above and fixed glazing bars. Top modillioned cornice and balustraded parapet. Return to left with pilastered doorway and arms of Manchester and Liverpool above. Inscription on quoin "Victoria Dei Gratia 1883" between. Initials "MLDB" on keystone. Tripartite window above. Classical interior with swags.
