Description
St Michaels Manor is a house built in 1839, originally known as Springwood House. It is constructed of stone and features a hipped roof. The building has two storeys and five bays, with a first-floor sill band, a top cornice, and a parapet that includes panelled, chamfered projection angle pilasters. The three-bay centre of the house projects forward. The windows are set in architraves, with the first-floor windows being eared, sashed, and fitted with glazing bars. There is an enclosed porch that has angle pilasters and a pierced parapet, along with flanking balconies for the first-floor windows. The entrance is architraved and features paired two-panel doors. On the left side, there is a low extension with large windows situated between pilasters.
Inside, the manor includes an entrance hall and an inner staircase hall that showcases a balustrade and columns designed in the Regency style, along with contemporary plaster work and marble mantelpieces.
