Description
Springwood Cottages are two houses dated 1684, constructed from red sandstone with a slate roof. The buildings are two storeys high and feature five bays, with the end bays recessed and the fourth bay having a gable. The second and third bays contain three-light sliding sash windows, while the ground floor of the third bay has a three-light casement window. The fourth bay features a first-floor window with five lights, where the end lights are blind, and includes a transom and label mould. This bay also has small windows. The entrance to the fourth bay is adorned with a four-centred canopy supported by side walls, flanked by two-light windows. Above the entrance, there is a plaque to the right that displays a heart, three fleurs-de-lys, and the initials CAA, with a date beneath a rose. The returns of the building are made of brick, with the left return featuring an entrance.
