Description
The screen wall on the south side of Stanley Park was built in 1870 and designed by E. R. Robson. It features a central section that stretches approximately 188.5 meters, with end sections that return at shallow angles. The western end runs for about 37 meters and connects to the Lodge, while the eastern end extends for approximately 154 meters. The wall is constructed of dressed stone and includes blind arcading that is interrupted at three-bay intervals by gabled buttresses topped with conical pinnacles, although the top stones are missing. The central section has a pavilion with a three-bay front, canted corner bays, and one-bay returns, featuring arcading with round columns at the front and arched openings on the sides, all topped with a slate roof. There are also two smaller pavilions on the east and west sides, each with canted angles and a five-bay arcade.
