Description
Nos. 2, 4, and 6 Hope Place is a terrace of three houses built in the early 19th century. The buildings are constructed of brick with stone dressings and feature a slate roof. Each house has three storeys and a basement, with three bays. They are topped with a cornice. The windows have wedge lintels and are mostly sash windows with glazing bars, except for No. 2, which has casement windows designed to look like sashes. No. 4 has a blind window on the second floor.
The central entrances are round-headed: No. 2 features a doorcase with consoles, No. 4 has a Doric doorcase with fluted columns, and No. 6 has a Doric doorcase with unfluted columns. No. 4 includes a complete fanlight and a six-panel door, while No. 6 has a two-panel door. All houses have iron area railings with ornamental heads and stone-coped garden walls topped with plain iron railings.
