Description
This is a terrace of five houses located on Hope Place, dating from the early 19th century. The buildings are constructed of brick with stone dressings and feature a slate roof. Each house has three storeys and a basement, with two bays per house. Architectural details include a basement lintel, a first-floor sill band, a top frieze, a cornice, and a blocking course. All windows have wedge lintels; most are sash windows, except for the second-floor windows of No. 9, which have casements. The windows of Nos. 11 and 17, as well as the second-floor windows of Nos. 13 and 15, have glazing bars. The second bay features round-headed entrances with Ionic door cases, except for No. 9, and No. 15 lacks columns. No. 13 has a late 19th-century door, No. 15 has a two-panel door, and No. 17 has a four-panel door. There are stone gate piers and railings leading to the steps of Nos. 9 and 11, as well as steps and a garden for No. 17.
