Description

Richmond Bridge, a footbridge over the Lancaster Canal, was opened in 1797 and designed by engineer John Rennie, although it may have been built slightly later. The bridge is constructed of rock-faced sandstone and features a single elliptical arch with a keystone. It has a solid parapet with a rounded top.
