Description

Canal Cottage in Richmond is a house dating from the late 18th century, originally built as two separate houses. It is constructed from sandstone rubble and features a slate roof. The building has three storeys and two bays. The windows are sash style with glazing bars and plain stone surrounds. In the center of the second floor, there is a blank plain stone surround. There are paired doorways between the bays, each with stone surrounds, although the right-hand doorway has been glazed. The gables have copings and chimneys, and shaped stone corbels support the gutter.
