Description

The Mount Pavilion is a seaside pavilion built in 1904. It features roughcast brick and tiled roofs, with a polygonal shape and a wing attached to the north. The building has two storeys, with ground floor stall openings that are likely original but now fitted with modern steel roll-shutters. These openings are protected by a pentice supported by square-section posts with shaped brackets. Above the pentice, a balcony encircles the entire building, featuring simple wooden railings and 2 and 5-light casement windows with small glazing panes. At the top of the polygon, there is a cupola with clocks positioned at the cardinal points, along with dormers on the roof slopes and a bellcote facing east. The wing has a hipped roof, making this a charming example of Edwardian seaside architecture.
