Description

This is an early 19th-century house located on Jackson Hill. It is constructed of squared sandstone with a slate roof and has a simple, three-bay facade. The house features sash windows with glazing bars, set in plain reveals with stone sills. The front door has six raised panels with re-entrant corners, a fanlight with an elliptical head, and a stone doorcase with attached Doric columns. Chimneys are placed in the gable ends. A two-storey stair projection, with a lean-to roof, extends from the rear of the right-hand return wall. This projection includes a tall stair window with a plain stone surround, a round head, and glazing bars. The group value is derived from its contribution to the historic character of the area.
