Description
The Methodist Church in Nether Wyresdale, built in 1842, is a single-storey structure made of squared sandstone rubble with a slate roof. The front features three bays, with chamfered quoins and a cornice. The windows are recessed, fitted with glazing bars, and there is a lunette above a tripartite opening, with the central light being sashed. The central bay includes a lunette above a porch, which has sides with chamfered rustication, a cornice, and a blocking course that displays a central datestone reading '1842'. Above the main cornice on the facade is a plaque inscribed 'WESLEYAN CHAPEL'. The gables are topped with copings and finials. To the right side of the building is a lower section that features a sashed window with glazing bars and a plain stone surround. To the left of this section is a door with a plain stone surround and a round head. The left-hand gable wall consists of two bays with windows similar to those on the front wall. The rear wall has three bays with similar windows, but these have plain stone surrounds instead of being recessed.
