Description
The lych gate north of the Church of St. Peter is a structure likely built between 1878 and 1879 by the architectural firm Paley and Austin. It is made of oak and sits on a sandstone base, topped with a red tile roof. The roof features two tie beams supported by large curved braces and has intricately carved barge boards. The low side walls are constructed of stone and support a timber superstructure that is braced downwards to ground sills, which extend beyond the walls.
