Description
Lady Whitehead Farmhouse and the adjoining barn, located on Bilsborrow Lane, date from the early 19th century. The farmhouse is constructed of coursed sandstone rubble and features a slate roof. It is two storeys high and has two bays. The left bay contains sashed windows with glazing bars and plain stone surrounds, while the right bay has smaller windows with plain stone surrounds. The entrance door, situated between the bays, also has a plain stone surround and is topped by a hood made of two pitched stone slates. A chimney is located on the left gable.
The barn, which is attached to the right of the farmhouse, has a lower roof. It features a blocked wide entrance with a segmental arch and quoined jambs. To the right of this entrance is a doorway with an external sliding door, and to the left is another door with a plain stone surround, next to a blocked window that has a similar stone surround.
