Description
The Victoria Public House, located at Dock Street and built between 1836 and 1841, is a three-storey building that appears on Decimus Burton's plan of 1841, indicating it was likely constructed under his supervision and possibly to his design. The exterior is rendered and features a moulded eaves cornice. There are nineteen ranges of sash windows, with the first-floor windows of the Victoria and No 58 having moulded stucco surrounds. Nos 52 and 54 have contemporary shopfronts with pilasters supporting an entablature, while No 50 has a slightly later shopfront that includes gadrooned consoles to the entablature.
