Description

Pennine View is a late 1840s building, likely constructed between 1841 and 1845. It was designed by A Tuach and was formerly the Crown Hotel. The building is constructed of ashlar, with a modern roof. It is three storeys high and features a moulded eaves cornice. A blocking course, with a pediment shape, extends over the end bays, and there is a central panelled ornamentation flanked by scrolled consoles. A first floor band runs along the facade. The building has seven ranges of modern windows, with the two end ranges projecting forward and featuring raised long and short quoins. The ground floor demonstrates horizontally channelled quoins. The doorway is set within a Tuscan surround, incorporating paired columns, a dentilled cornice, and a pediment-shaped blocking course.
