Description
The Church of St Paul, built in 1805, is now used as a meeting room. It is constructed from sandstone rubble and features a slate roof. The building has chamfered quoins, and its windows and doors are framed with plain stone surrounds that have pointed heads. The windows include glazing bars and Gothick tracery at the top, which is believed to be made of cast iron. The south wall consists of three bays, with the lower parts of the windows filled in with modern brick. The gables are topped with copings, and the west gable includes a double bellcote with a pitched coping. The west wall has two doorways and no other openings. The north wall features a small gabled projection with chamfered quoins, a window, and a gable with coping and a chimney. There is also a doorway in the right-hand return wall, with a window on each side of the main building. The east window has a plain stone surround with a pointed head, a mullion that branches into Y-tracery, and Gothick glazing. Inside, there is a gallery on two sides, which now has a modern blockwork wall built beneath its front, and a flat ceiling.
