Description
The United Reformed Church, originally a Congregational church, was built in 1760 on the site of a church from 1706-1707. It underwent alterations in 1870 and the 1920s. The church is constructed from sandstone rubble and features a slate M-roof. It is a single-storey building with a facade that includes chamfered quoins and one bay on each side of a gabled porch. The windows are tall, with plain stone surrounds, round heads, keystones, and impost blocks, each rising under a small gable. The porch has a doorway with a moulded pointed surround. On the left-hand (east) wall, there are twin gables and two windows similar to those at the front. Inside, there is an 18th-century pulpit, believed to have come from St. Michael's on Wyre, featuring raised and fielded panels and a stair with slim turned balusters.
