Description
Mill Dam Lane End Farmhouse is a farmhouse that has been converted into two dwellings. It dates from the early to mid 18th century and was enlarged in the 19th century, with some alterations made. The building is constructed of handmade brown brick in English garden wall bond and features a stone slate roof. It has a T-plan layout, consisting of a one-and-a-half-depth front range with an added rear wing. The farmhouse is two storeys tall with an attic and has two windows on the front. There is a doorway on the right, which is protected by a 20th-century gabled porch, and two segmental-headed casement windows on each floor. The ground floor windows have deep heads made of gauged brick, and all windows have 20th-century joinery. The gable chimneys are extruded. The right-hand gable wall has one enlarged or altered window on each floor, along with a very small attic window located at the rear of the chimney. Inside, there is a hall or housepart to the right and a parlour to the left. A doglegged staircase with a closed string and stick balusters leads to the rear of the parlour. The beams on both floors have small chamfers, and the roof features purlins with chamfered edges.
