Description
This lychgate, located approximately 20 metres southeast of the Church of St Michael, was likely built in 1879 by Douglas of Chester. It is constructed of oak and features a stone slate roof. The gateposts have curved braces that extend down to ground plates and up to the short tie-beams of the roof. A beam connecting the gateposts is inscribed on its eastern side with the words: 'Grant O Lord that through the grave and gate of Death we may pass to our joyful Resurrection'.
