Description
Dunkirk Hall is a house dated 1628, currently undergoing conversion into a public house. It features a brick structure with a stone plinth and dressings, topped with a concrete tile roof and a projecting chimney stack on the left gable. The original design includes a three-bay baffle-entry plan and it stands two and a half storeys tall. A prominent three-storey gabled porch is located at the junction of the second and third bays, showcasing very large quoins, a moulded doorcase, and a lintel inscribed with "WSI 1628," flanked by the letters "T" and "L" above the door. The first and second floors have brick mullion windows, although all other front windows have been altered, with plans for restoration of the mullions. Inside, there are blocked brick mullion windows visible in the gable walls, and alterations have been made to all openings in the rear wall. The interior retains parts of timber-framed ground floor partitions and seven first-floor beams, all of which are quarter-round moulded.
