Description

The gate lodge to Crawshaw Hall, likely dating from circa 1831, is constructed of ashlar with a concealed roof behind a parapet, and includes a rear wall chimney. It is a small, rectangular building with a single-depth plan and three bays. Designed in the Gothic style, the lodge is symmetrical, featuring a prominent cornice and parapet. A central porch provides access via a Tudor-arched doorway. The side walls incorporate lancet windows with hoodmoulds. The main facade has two windows on the ground floor and three above. The right gable wall features one window on each floor, each window consisting of two round-headed lights with hollow spandrels, sills with aprons, and hoodmoulds. Some windows retain original intersecting glazing bars, while others are casements.
