Description

Bolton Peel Cross is a cross that was replaced in the early 20th century, although its base is likely medieval. It is made of sandstone and features an irregular base that is partly buried in asphalt, with a squared platform on top. The cross is socketed for a shaft that has a rectangular section. The shaft is chamfered and topped with a pierced foliated cross head.
