Description
Wellhouse, likely built in the early 19th century, is situated over an older well. The structure is made of rubble, primarily sandstone, and features a conical slate roof. It has a circular plan, with walls reaching a maximum height of approximately 2 metres. On the east side, there is a doorway with a plain stone surround and a pointed head. The south side contains a small window, also with a plain stone surround and a pointed head. Inside, the well is encircled by a circular flagstone walkway. The wellhouse is located near the site of Bolton Hall.
