Description

A pair of houses, originally one dwelling, was built in 1716. The houses are constructed of rubble stone with a stone slate roof. They are two storeys high. Keys Cottage (to the left) has one bay and features a four-light mullioned window on each floor. The ground-floor window has an inner cyma moulding and an outer chamfer, while the first-floor window is double-chamfered. A doorway is located to the right. The jamb mouldings form an elaborate shape on the lintel, above which a plaque reads 'YRY IM 1716'. The lintel and plaque are sheltered by a hood. Primrose Cottage, to the right, also has one bay. The ground-floor window has been reconstructed, though the remains of chamfered jambs, a central square mullion, and glazing bars remain. The first floor features a double-chamfered four-light mullioned window. A door with a plain stone surround is on the left, and a chimney is located to the right.
