Description
No 2 Church Brow is a mid to late 19th-century building that stands two stories tall, constructed from coursed stone with rusticated quoins. It features stone brackets and a band at the eaves. The front has three windows with stone surrounds and chamfered reveals on tabs. On the ground floor, there are two similar windows with two lights, which have a cornice and rest on three wide tabs. A notable feature of the building is the arched doorway, which includes a drip mould, carved ornament, and a monogram. The arched fanlight above the door has marginal glazing bars. Pink granite columns with carved capitals support the spandrels of the doorway, which is accessed by three steps. This building is part of a group that includes Nos 4 to 8 (even) and Nos 22 and 24 Church Street.
