Description
Nos 45 and 47 Whalley Road are two-storey buildings dating from around 1825. They are rendered and topped with a Welsh slate roof. The gable on the right side projects forward and features rustication with stone coped kneelers. Above a modern door, there are two long windows set in stone surrounds, and the left section has three windows above three, with the center window being a former door opening. The side elevation includes four windows above four and two, along with a segmental-headed carriage entry. These buildings, along with Nos 35 to 39, which are occupied by the British Legion, form a group with Nos 49 to 71, of which Nos 35 to 39 and Nos 49 to 71 are considered buildings of local interest only.
