Description
This is a row of early 19th-century buildings on Whalley Road. The row comprises numbers 78 to 88 (even). They are rendered (covered in a smooth plaster) with slate and stone slate roofs, and a decorative cornice of modillion (scrolled bracket) details under the eaves. Each building generally has one window, except for number 80, which has two. The windows and doorways are surrounded by stone, but lack glazing bars. A small shop front dating from the mid-19th century is present at number 84. Modern windows and a modern door are found on the end property, which is now a club. Numbers 60 to 164 (even) form a group; all of these buildings, other than numbers 76 to 110, are considered to be buildings of local interest.
