Description

The cross base, likely from the medieval period, is located on the east side of the drive to Bolton Hall, approximately 680 metres south of the church in Bolton-by-Bowland. It is made of sandstone and features a large rough stone block that has a dressed block of square shape set into it, with its upper edges chamfered. This dressed block is designed to hold a cross shaft, of which only the stump remains.
