Description

This pair of gate piers, likely built in the mid-19th century, marks the entrance to the grounds of Whalley Abbey, located next to No. 1A. They are constructed from sandstone ashlar and are square in shape. The piers feature chamfered rustication and are topped with caps that have ball finials.
