Description
White Fold Farmhouse, dating from the mid 18th century, is constructed of sandstone rubble and features roofs made of stone slate and slate. The building has a double-pile plan with a central entrance and end stacks, standing two storeys high with two bays. The windows are modern but set in rebated and chamfered surrounds, which may either be late 17th century and reused or a late survival. The door has a plain surround made of long-and-short stones. On the right-hand gable, there is a tall stair window with a plain stone surround and a round head. The rear wing displays 19th-century window details. Inside, the left-hand front room features a moulded shouldered fireplace. The adjoining barn on the left has a wide entrance with a segmental head, two lower-level windows to the left (one being a later addition), and three shippon doorways in the gable wall, also at a lower level. Inside the barn, there are softwood king-post trusses.
