Description

This is a 17th-century barn, with a conversion to two cottages occurring in the early 19th century. The building is constructed of sandstone rubble and has a roof of slate and asbestos sheets. The north wall features a wide, chamfered entrance with a triangular head, alongside a smaller window that has been blocked to create a new window. A door with plain reveals sits between the two. Above are chamfered ventilation slits. The cottages to the left have modern windows and a gable with a coping, a blocked chamfered door surround, and a window under the apex with a double-chamfered surround. On the south wall is a wide entrance with chamfered jambs and a later wooden lintel, a smaller door with chamfered jambs and a triangular head, and two windows with plain reveals. Again, chamfered ventilation slits are set above. Inside the barn are three trusses of reused cruck timber, featuring tie beams and collars.
