Description

Tinkerfield is a house dating from around 1700, with later alterations. It is constructed of sandstone rubble with a slate roof. The house is two storeys high. The original three bays on the right feature three-light mullioned windows with rebated and chamfered detailing. A first-floor window in the left-hand bay has been extended upwards into a dormer and altered to a six-light mullioned and transomed window. The left-hand bay includes a gabled stone porch with a simple stone surround to the front door, and a single-light rebated and chamfered window above the door on the first floor. Chimneys are located at the ends of the building and a further chimney is positioned to the right of the second bay. An extension, which incorporates a former barn and a cross-wing built in 1903, extends the building to the left. Inside, one room contains a moulded fireplace with a segmental head.
