Description
Moss Side is a house dated 1826, as indicated by a plaque above the door. It is constructed of furrowed sandstone ashlar and has a slate roof. The house features a symmetrical design with two storeys and two bays. The windows are sashed with glazing bars and have plain stone surrounds. There is a sill band on the first floor and an eaves cornice. The door has a plain stone surround, with the jambs designed as Tuscan pilasters and a semi-circular head featuring a fluted keystone. To the left of the house, there is an adjoining bay made of sandstone rubble, likely from the same period, which has a wide segmental-arched entrance that is now glazed and part of the house. This entrance displays herringbone tooling on the voissoirs, with a window above it that also has a plain stone surround.
