Description
This is a row of three small town houses located in Preston, built between 1840 and 1847 and subsequently altered. The houses are constructed of red brick in a Flemish bond pattern, with sandstone dressings and a slate roof. Each house follows a double-depth plan and is single-fronted, with individual extensions to the rear. They are two storeys high, with cellars beneath, and each house has two windows on the first floor.
The facades feature a stone plinth, a deep band to the first floor, a plain frieze, and a moulded gutter cornice. Each house has a doorway to the right, with a moulded architrave and cornice supported by consoles which have guttae. The ground floor windows have raised sills and wedge lintels with keystones, while the first-floor windows have raised sills; all the windows have altered glazing. Ridge chimneys are present. The interiors and rear of the properties were not inspected.
