Description

No. 60, West Cliff is a detached town house likely dating from approximately 1830 to 1836, and subsequently altered. The building is constructed of red brick in Flemish bond, with sandstone dressings, and a slate roof. It follows a double-depth, double-fronted plan. The symmetrical facade has three windows, with a plain frieze and moulded cornice. The central doorway features an Ionic doorcase, a panelled door, and an overlight with glazing bars. The windows are 12-pane sashed, with raised sills and wedge lintels. Two tall chimney stacks are situated on the front slope. This was the first house built on West Cliff. The rear of the property and interior remain uninspected.
