Description
This building is a public house and a terrace of houses located on Broadgate, dating from the mid-19th century. It is constructed of red brick, which has been painted on the public house, and features a Welsh slate roof with brick stacks at both the front and rear of the ridge. The structure is two stories high and has a total of 16 windows, which include sashes and casements in their original openings.
No. 1, the public house, has a painted stone doorcase with paired pilasters and a full entablature, accessed by stone steps. There is a window on either side of the door and four additional windows above. The corner to the left is cut off and features a pilaster above. The other houses in the terrace also have stone doorcases, some of which are painted, with panelled pilasters and moulded cornices supported by carved brackets. Most of the ground floor windows are sashes or casements in their original openings, except for No. 3, which has a canted bay, and Nos. 7 and 8, which feature two-storey canted bays. The interiors have not been inspected.
