Description
The base of a former preaching cross, likely from the late medieval period, is located approximately 7 metres south of the chancel of the Church of St. Mary in Goosnargh. This sandstone block measures about 1 metre square and stands around 0.5 metres high above the ground. It features chamfered corners and has a large square hole in the top. Historical records indicate that a chapel has been noted in Goosnargh since the early 14th century.
