Description

Whinnyfield Bridge, also known as Bridge Number 34, is an accommodation bridge over the Lancaster Canal, built in the 1790s by engineer John Rennie. The bridge is constructed from large squared rock-faced sandstone blocks and features an elliptical arch with rock-faced voussoirs and slim keystones. It has decorative bands and parapets with rounded coping, along with curved pilastered ends and a humped deck.
