Description
Marsden Hall is a house that has been converted into a restaurant, dating from around 1700. Originally, it consisted of two sections, but the larger 18th-century part has been demolished. The building is constructed of rubble and features a stone slate hipped roof. It stands two storeys tall.
On the rear ground floor, there is a plain square window, a 9-light stone mullion window, a plain doorway, a 6-light stone mullion window, and a 3-light stone mullion window. The first floor has one large window with a moulded surround that features a moulded lion's head. To the right of this window is a 9-light stone mullion window and a 5-light stone mullion window, although the last light of the latter has been blocked. Above the doorway, there are two small square windows.
Additionally, there is a sundial that allows the time to be determined in 17 different locations around the world. The building has four chimneys, including one very large chimney located on the ridge.
