Description

Moss Houses Farmhouse is a 17th-century farmhouse located on Moss Houses Road in Foulridge. Constructed of hammer-dressed stone with large quoins, it has a stone slate roof and a linear three-cell plan. The farmhouse features a two-storey gabled porch with a finial. The entrance door has a four-centred head and chamfered reveals, with a two-light window above it featuring a returned dripstone. The ground floor has one five-light window, two two-light windows, and a single-light window; all except the single-light window have returned drip labels. The first floor has two three-light windows and three single-light windows. Three chimneys are present, with two at the ends being stepped and external. The porch and the room it connects to are later additions to the original farmhouse.
