Description
Spen Barn Farmhouse is a house from the later 18th century, built of coursed rubble with a slate roof and kneelers. It has two storeys and a symmetrical facade featuring two 4-light stone mullion windows on each floor. The windows have plain surrounds and chamfered mullions, although all the mullions are replacements that are said to match the originals. There is a modern gabled porch, and an original mullion has been inserted as a drip mould. To the right, there is an extension of little interest. At the rear, there is an altered 8-light mullion and transom staircase window, along with three 18th-century 2-light stone mullion windows. Additionally, there is a reused 3-light window with remains of a 17th-century stone mullion on the ground floor to the right. The house features gable chimneys.
