Description
Laneshaw Bridge, also known as Royd Bridge, is a bridge from the early 19th century made of stone. It features a single span segmental arch constructed with voussoirs. The bridge has a band and a parapet with coping that rises to a peak above the arch. On the roadside of the parapet, there is inscribed lettering that reads: C.C. Laneshaw Bridge (Colne). The parapet continues as a boundary wall on both sides. A bridge has been recorded at this location since 1556.
